LORDSTOWN, Ohio - A 10-year tax abatement has ended for Matalco Inc., a manufacturing company that recycles scrap metal and produces aluminum billets and slabs.

Lordstown Mayor Jackie Woodward said that for the past decade, the company paid only 25% of its property taxes due to a previously approved 75% exemption.

With the abatement now concluded, Matalco must pay 100% of the property taxes for its facility located at 5120 Tod Avenue in Lordstown.

The Trumbull County auditor will adjust the tax records accordingly to reflect this change.
