BOARDMAN, Ohio (MyValleyTributes) – Cheryl Lynn Gallagher, 73, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at Mercy Health St Elizabeth’s Boardman Hospital, after a long illness.
Cheryl was born March 29, 1952, in Wheeling, West Virginia, to the late John P. Gallagher and Virginia R. (Green) Hoopes.

In addition to her parents, Cheryl was preceded in death by her brothers, Charles Gallagher, Raymond Hoopes, Jr., Terrance Gallagher and by her sister, Pamela Gallagher.
Cheryl spent her younger years traveling, but returned back to Youngstown to be able to spend time with her family. She enjoyed reading books and doing puzzles as well as cooking. She will be remembered by her family for her unwavering spirit.
Cheryl is survived by her children, Joseph Ruiz of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Michelle Lynn Gallagher of Girard, Sean (Tracy) Patton of Canfield and Dionne Migliore of Boardman; eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, two brothers, Jeffrey Gallagher of Canton and Richard Gallagher of Youngstown and a sister, Debra Gallagher of Boardman. Cheryl is also survived by her dedicated partner of 30 years, Robert Lawrence.
Per Cheryl’s request, there will be no calling hours or funeral services at this time.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by Davis-Becker Funeral Home, 8536 Market Street, Boardman.
