Here is a roundup from the 2026 Oscars red carpet.
Phil McCarten / The AcademyEntrance-Making Drama
Now this is how you make an entrance on Oscar night. Arden Cho gave us drama, elegance and heritage in this Miss Sohee Spring 2026 Couture creation. The black lace column gown was framed by a chartreuse embroidered stole bursting with florals and birds, creating the kind of theatrical moment the Oscars carpet thrives on. Her Messika Firebird necklace and rings completed the look.

Phil McCarten / The AcademyVintage Gone Wrong
I can’t get over how bad Ariana Greenblatt looks here. What was the point of pulling this stunning archive John Galliano gown if this was going to be the outcome? What a waste, and this is becoming all too frequent. We get it, Molly, you have access to some incredible vintage looks, but once again it didn’t deliver. Even the Mikimoto jewels did little to elevate the moment.
Getty ImagesUniform On Pause
I had long checked out of Audrey Nuna in Thom Browne this awards season, but on Oscar night the uniform codes were put on detention as the label delivered this striking gold and black moiré gown. The crystal-embellished high-neck bodice cascaded into a dramatic black skirt, creating a silhouette that felt far removed from the brand’s usual tailoring codes. Chopard jewels completed her look.
Phil McCarten / The AcademyDisney Princess Mode
Auli’i Cravalho and Disney-leaning gowns go hand-in-hand, which is why this Antonio Marras Spring 2026 bustier gown with an ethereal tulle skirt feels perfectly on brand for the actress. The sculpted bodice and soft embellishments add just enough fantasy to make the look feel red carpet ready. Brilliant Earth jewellery completed her look.
Phil McCarten / The AcademyPosen Returns To Form
In terms of red carpet icons, Zac Posen is right up there. While I have enjoyed seeing him transform denim into striking gowns under the GapStudio label, it was refreshing to see him return to moiré fabric for this bustier gown worn by Barbie Ferreira. However, the bustier needed more room in the cups, and the placket running down the skirt prevented me from loving this look in its entirety. De Beers jewels and a La Marquise ring completed her look.
Phil McCarten / The AcademySilver Screen Glamour
Bruna Marquezine dazzled in a Gucci silver knit dress embroidered with glass beads that shimmered like the Oscar statuette itself. The sleek strapless silhouette allowed the sparkle to do all the talking.

We will always love an Atonement green moment, which Charithra Chandran delivered in this Miss Sohee Spring 2024 Couture bustier gown. The rich emerald satin and sweeping train made it one of the night’s most striking colour statements. Chopard jewels completed her look.

Chloé Zhao wore a custom Gabriela Hearst gown rich in symbolism. The long-sleeved black silhouette with layered ruffles at the hem maintains the restrained elegance we expect from the director on the red carpet.
The design draws on imagery of the black crow, a symbol often tied to reflection and transformation. That idea feels especially fitting for Hamnet, a film shaped by themes of grief, memory, and self-recognition. The dress’s feather-like textures subtly echo that introspective tone, making this feel like a thoughtful choice rather than a purely aesthetic one.

Ginnifer Goodwin wore Monse Fall 2026, delivering a sheer black gown with sculptural off-the-shoulder detailing that was unexpected. Sabyasachi Jewelry completed her look.

Ji-young Yoo wore a Carolina Herrera Pre-Fall 2025 gown styled with Messika jewellery. The pale blue sweetheart bodice paired with the voluminous navy skirt created a striking contrast that felt both classic and fresh.

Kirsten Dunst started the awards season strong, but she reverted to more understated looks toward the end, which we saw again in this strapless tiered Celine gown. Granted, she was there supporting her husband, Jesse Plemons, but I still wanted a bit more from Kiki last night. Fred Leighton jewels completed her look.
Etienne Laurent / The AcademyCouture Classic
It’s a shame that Elie Saab no longer commands the red carpet presence it once did, because Kristen Wiig’s Spring 2026 Haute Couture gown reminds us why the house dominated awards season for so long. The beaded, draped bodice falling into that full skirt delivers the kind of drama the Oscars call for, and the Boucheron necklace adds the perfect finishing touch.

Halfway There
Li Jun Li’s Gaurav Gupta look only works for me from the waist up. The sculptural bodice has real presence, but the skirt drags the entire look down. The top is going to the Oscars; the skirt feels destined for last-minute, underground after-party look. Fope jewellery and Jimmy Choo shoes completed the look.
Phil McCarten / The AcademyQuiet Standout
Marsai Martin’s custom chocolate-brown silk bias-cut corseted gown from Christian Siriano will likely fly under the radar, but I love everything about it. The rich colour, the sculpted silhouette, and the fluid drapery work beautifully together, while the Messika choker adds a sleek, modern finish.
Etienne Laurent / The AcademyVision vs Reality
I understand the vision behind this David Koma Fall 2026 look for ballerina Misty Copeland, but the execution left me underwhelmed. The oversized jacket feels heavy and overwhelms her frame, which disrupts what could have been a sharper, more balanced silhouette.

Regina Hall wore a Yara Shoemaker Fall 2023 Couture gown styled with a matching gold Tyler Ellis clutch and Pomellato jewels. The dramatic off-the-shoulder neckline paired with the structured gold waist panel gives the look a sculptural edge.

Vicky Krieps wore a custom Bottega Veneta with the organza fur-embroidered adding texture and depth to the otherwise simple column silhouette.
